Around 90% of cars on New Zealand roads were assembled in factories across the nation from 1921-1998 as many as 2.5 million cars! Little was recorded, but the author scoured the country visiting the sites and talking to anyone he could find to bring this fascinating story of New Zealand manufacturing history to life. Assembly covers all major car brands from those decades: English, European, US and Japanese, and the local outfits that created parts for the resulting cars.
Assembly: New Zealand Car Production 1921-1998 was written in 2001, but was revised and expanded in 2020 for this new hardback edition.
